Alps

The Alps or Alpes in Latin, is a mountain range in southern Europe. It stretches from the Mediterranean to the Adriatic Sea. This range separates Gaul and Germany from the rest of the Empire. Due to it’s rugged terrain, it was difficult for enemies to pass through it, which (along with the Apennines), protected Rome from invaders.
